My name is Spencer Buchness, and I love to travel.
I’m 26-years-old, from Bel Air, Maryland, and graduated in May 2014 from Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I have spent most of my life watching people live the life I dreamt of pursuing. For years I have studied the nomad lifestyle, van life, minimalism, ways to be happy, and the benefits of traveling. The most bookmarked links on my computer started with Youtube. Every design job I’ve had, I would watch travel videos on my dual monitor while working. And if I wasn’t able to do that, I had a headphone in listening to talks on happiness, South America, and otherworldly takeaways for example. Once I graduated college, it strictly came down to the most powerful word “fear.” That’s what held me back from pursing my dreams.
In 2017 I was able to kick fear to the wayside for the time being. I owe a lot of credit and ecouragement to my friends and family for helping me navigate through the clouds of not-knowing but I made it through. Put my two weeks in, packed my bags, and borrowed my dad’s bike headed to the westcoast. It was crazy, I just went. Dipped my bike into the ocean right past the Ocean City, Maryland pier and headed West with my Dad towards Bel Air, MD. He had to go back to work but I continued my xcountry ride for the next 3 months and successful made it to San Franscisco.
I’ve done everything by the book my entire life. My cross-country ride was my first “me” thing where I did everything from navigating, riding, surviving, and learning on my own. Then the travel bug bit me again. I began planning my next epic adventure. Fear played a strong hand this time but after a long game of mental chess, I put fear in checkmate. It was time to travel across this country to discover some of the greatest coffee experiences out there. And this is exactly what I am doing.
I created Find That Coffee to help coffee shops tell their story and show coffee drinkers that there are some amazing cafes out there. Bringing you an even better experience when it comes to coffee. Who knows, they may be just around the corner! On this site, you’ll find countless resources on everything from coffee shops to brewing methods to traveling in a van across the country.
My journey officially began September 3rd, 2019. Cheers!
